    North Carolina potatoes are known as “Summers Best Potatoes, Every Day, In Every Way.”    Harvested from mid-June through July North Carolina growers produce round whites, reds, and yellow flesh potatoes for table stock and chip stock varieties for potato chip facilities. Varieties produced are very versatile and can be baked, boiled, roasted, and fried.   Approximately 17,000 acres are produced annually with approximately 75% of this produced for potato chips.   North Carolina’s entire crop is shipped fresh in order to fill the needs of the market.   NCSU scientists are working on new variety development.  This will be featured at our booth at 420.
